Revenue Cycle Uncovered | Community
Terms of Service
These terms explain the conditions for accessing and using RCU | Community, the discussion forum associated with the independent educational publication Revenue Cycle Uncovered.
The community is a free discussion space hosted through Discourse. By accessing or participating in the forum, you agree to these terms and the community's Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not use the forum.
1. Accounts and access
Members are responsible for the information they provide when registering, for keeping account credentials secure, and for activity conducted through their accounts. Please do not share access, impersonate another person, misrepresent an affiliation, or create accounts to evade restrictions.
Registration and access requirements may change. The community may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts when needed to address violations, security concerns, or misuse of the forum.
2. Participating in the community
RCU | Community is intended for conversations, shared interests, questions, and the exchange of experiences and ideas. Members are expected to follow the Community Guidelines and applicable laws.
Harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, fraud, spam, malicious links, unauthorized access attempts, and activities that interfere with the forum or other members are not permitted.
3. Privacy and confidential information
Because healthcare and revenue cycle are common subjects here, members need to be particularly careful with information taken from real situations.
Do not post protected health information (PHI), patient-identifying details, confidential employer information, private communications, passwords, account credentials, or material you do not have permission to disclose. This includes information contained in screenshots, claims, remittances, medical records, and other documents. Removing a name alone may not be enough to protect someone's identity.
Use fictional examples or appropriately de-identified information when discussing sensitive situations, and only share material you are authorized to disclose. Content presenting a privacy or confidentiality concern may be removed.
Details about personal data and the forum's technical services will be provided in the community's Privacy Policy.
4. Your contributions
You retain any rights you hold in original material you post. By submitting content, you give the community operator a nonexclusive permission to host, store, display, reproduce, and process that content as reasonably necessary to operate the forum, deliver it to the intended audience, maintain the service, and administer moderation. This permission does not transfer ownership of your work.
Please post only material you have the right to share, and respect the intellectual property and privacy rights of others. Removing a post may not immediately remove quotations, notifications, cached copies, or backups.
5. Educational and professional discussions
Members may discuss healthcare operations, payer rules, regulations, billing, technology, careers, and other specialized subjects. Those discussions reflect different experiences and may be incomplete, outdated, or specific to a particular situation.
Community content is shared for general information and conversation, not as a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice. Verify information independently before relying on it in a real-world decision. A member's views do not necessarily reflect those of Revenue Cycle Uncovered or any organization with which that member is associated.
6. Moderation
The community may review, move, edit, hide, or remove content, and may limit or suspend accounts, when reasonably necessary to apply these terms, respond to reports, protect members, or address security or legal concerns.
Moderation decisions may take context, seriousness, and repeated behavior into account. Not every disagreement is a violation. Although reporting tools are provided, every post and message cannot be monitored continuously.
7. Links and third-party services
The forum is hosted through Discourse and may rely on other service providers for features such as email delivery and media handling. Their applicable terms and privacy practices may also affect how those services work.
Members may share external links. RCU | Community does not control those websites or guarantee their content, safety, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices. Sharing a link does not necessarily mean the community endorses it.
8. Availability and changes
The community may be changed, interrupted, restricted, or discontinued as technical needs or circumstances evolve. Features, categories, permissions, and registration requirements may also change.
Please keep personal copies of any content you wish to preserve. The forum is provided on an as-available basis, subject to rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Responsibility and limitations
Members are responsible for what they choose to post and how they use information found in discussions. The community does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of member submissions.
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate member-submitted information, disclosures made by other members, third-party services, or interruptions beyond the operator's reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.
10. Updates to these terms
These terms may be revised to reflect changes to the community, its operations, or applicable requirements. Material updates may be announced through the forum or another appropriate channel. Continued use following an update may constitute acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
11. Questions and contact
For questions or concerns about these terms or the operation of the community, use the Revenue Cycle Uncovered Editorial Communication page.
